What is Rosacea?

R

osacea is a skin condition that manifests as patches of redness on the face, usually on the cheeks – some cases can also appear as small pus-filled bumps on the face. This condition is most common among middle-aged women and can often be mistaken for acne.

There is no known cause for Rosacea, but experts have credited overactive immune systems, sun damage, and hormonal changes as culprits. Other symptoms of Rosacea include:

  • Visible blood vessels
  • Red bumps
  • Facial redness and swelling

Why Do I Have Visible Veins?

Visible veins in the face can result from various reasons. Sun damage, aging, and vascular disease are some of the most common. Unlike Rosacea, the underlying disease is not a prerequisite for developing visible veins.

Are You Looking for Treatment for Rosacea and Visible Facial Veins?

We offer several treatment options for these common skin conditions. Our laser treatments tend to be the most effective procedure. By using a laser, we can target the problem veins and cut off blood flow. This causes the veins to seal off, and over time, they are absorbed by your body, leaving no signs of their presence.

If you are ready for a permanent solution to your skin woes, the team at Aspire OMS is excited to help. Get in touch today to get started!

Why an oral surgeon vs. dentist?

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons receive specialized training to treat a variety of conditions affecting the head, neck, face, mouth, and jaws. Although a general dentist may perform simple tooth extractions -- more complex surgeries, such as removing wisdom teeth, are what we are specifically trained to do. Plus, we have advanced equipment to make procedures more affordable, and significantly more comfortable, for you to have the best overall experience.
